More favorite things! Staying in and getting lost in a good book next to the fire with your comfy PJs on while it lightly snows outside your window… I mean I live in LA so the fireplace is the fake Netflix version, there is spray snow from Target painted in my small apartment window and my PJs and shorts and a baggy shirt…but you get the idea 😉 All jokes aside, the holidays are always full of so many fresh new amazing books, and everything seems to slow down. So why not grab a book settle in, make my simmer **hint hint And Check out these awesome books I have been reading.

Own The Moment by Carl Lentz is the lead pastor of Hillsong Church whos book shares his person faith story and perspective in a relatable and entertaining form. Lentz also offers readings of Bible passages and practical tips on how to live as a person of faith in an increasingly materialistic world. How do you maintain your values—and pass them onto your children—in a society that worships money and sex and fame? How do you embrace your flaws in this Instagram era that exalts the appearance of perfection? How do you forget about “living the dream” and learn to embrace the beauty of your reality?
The 4-Hour Body, Tim Ferriss describes The 4-Hour Body as “unlike any diet or fitness book…It’s more like a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book for the human body, full of ridiculous stories, practical philosophies, and larger-than-life characters.” The book covers over 50 topics, including rapid fat loss, increasing strength, boosting endurance and polyphasic sleep.
You’re not that Great, Elan Gale, Elan bashes any stereotype that you may feel towards the self-help industry about telling you that if you’re positive, if you put your best foot forward and if you just believe in yourself that you will find happiness. Let’s be real, you can read all the inspirational quotes you want. You can spend your days giving yourself affirmations in your heart-shaped mirror and trying to learn to love yourself. You can say your mantra over and over again while sitting cross-legged on a yoga mat in a Whole Foods parking lot. But the truth is, you’re not a badass and you still don’t have the life you want. That’s where You’re Not That Great (but neither is anyone else) comes in. This book teaches you how to harness all the negativity in the world and use it to improve your life, taking everyday feelings like self-loathing, regret and shame and making them work for you.
Disaster Artist, actually written by my Pop client..but that’s another story for another day…From the actor who lived through the most improbable Hollywood success story, with an award-winning narrative nonfiction writer, comes the inspiring, fascinating and laugh-out-loud story of a mysteriously wealthy outsider who sundered every road block in the Hollywood system to achieve success on his own terms—the making of The Room, “the Citizen Kane of bad movies” (Entertainment Weekly). Its now a fire movie with James Franco
Wonder, Written by RJ Palacio, Narrated by Auggie and the people around him whose lives he touches, Wonder is a frank, funny, astonishingly moving debut to be read in one sitting, pass on to others, and remember long after the final page. Also the movie star Julia Roberts who is basically queen
